The major of Praia a Mare on Cosenza’s coast has imposed a midnight curfew for kids aged 14 and under.
Residents are outraged by nighttime clashes
Nights in the little seaside town on the Tyrrhenian coast of Cosenza in Calabria have become a nightmare for residents who are forced to endure nocturnal shouting and fighting between groups of young people, many under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Now, the ordinance issued by Praia a Mare’s mayor Antonino De Lorenzo, as reported by the Italian daily Corriere della Sera, prohibits kids under 14 from going out from half past midnight to 7 am.
Fines, and suspension of minors from public events
The fines for anyone breaking the rule will be €100 for children and €250 for their parents or guardians. And they will increase by 50% in the event of repeat offenders, and can also lead to the suspension of minors from public events organised by the municipality. Local police officers and carabinieri will be in charge of supervision. “It is a due act linked to security problems. Kids are doing damage, too many are riding scooters,” explains mayor Antonino De Lorenzo
“We designed the law to protect 14-year-olds”
Mayor De Lorenzo does concede that he would be ready to revoke the new law if parents do their duty in full. “We designed and implemented the law to protect 14-year-olds who run around at all hours of the night, assaulting their peers and causing damage to beach property. It seems to be their favourite game!”

“Our goal is to position Forlì as a place where visitors can rediscover a slower pace of life, immersed in nature, culture, and gastronomy,- Bravi explains. -We’re creating a model of sustainable tourism and, in collaboration with local social associations and tourism players, we have invested in developing cycling routes throughout the area allowing Forlì to welcome those who want to explore the region in a meaningful, eco-conscious way.”
Art exhibitions that rival Italy’s best
Forlì has also earned a reputation as a cultural capital, thanks in part to the high-profile exhibitions hosted in the San Domenico and San Giacomo Museum complexes. “Evey year our shows attract between 70,000 to 100,000 visitors over just a few months between March and June. That’s a huge number for a city of our size of 120,000 inhabitants- says Bravi. -The recently reopened Rocca di Caterina Sforza fortress has become another stage for historical re-enactments, literary events, and open-air theatre, particularly during the summer months. “We’re bringing history and culture to life, in ways that are accessible and engaging for all.”

“Sport is a real driver of tourism”
Forlì also has over 100 sports facilities, drawing more than 100,000 visitors annually for competitions, training, and sporting events. “Sport is not only leisure, it’s a real driver of tourism, Motor events like the Mille Miglia, and the Nuvolari Grand Prix have put Forlì on the map for fans of vintage and luxury cars from across the globe. The city is also a magnet for athletes from nearby regions who regularly use our state-of-the-art gyms and swimming centers.We’ve created a network of activity that extends well beyond our city limits.”
At Christmas Forlì becomes a winter wonderland
One of Forlì’s brightest moments comes during the holiday season. “Just in the two weeks before Christmas last year we welcomed over 300,000 visitors to our city center, and we tracked the number through vehicle plate recognition systems. That’s more than double our population.” The city’s festive season includes light displays, Christmas markets, and family-friendly events. “We are investing even more for Christmas 2025, expanding into new areas like the public gardens and the Parco della Resistenza.”
Flights from Georgia and Austria
Forlì’s international airport is fast building international connections. “We’re currently at 120,000 passengers annually, although in the past, we did handle up to 800,000. One key development is our new direct route to Tbilisi, Georgia, which has already brought in new visitors, adding to those from Austria, and we are exploring future links with emerging markets like Morocco and beyond.” Forlì is regularly present at major Italian and international tourism fairs, often teaming up with other regional destinations. “We may be a mid-sized city- concludes Bravi, -but our ambitions, and the quality of our offer, are anything but small.”

La Badia, a new acquisition by Pellicano Hotels Italy’s latest acquisition in the Umbrian hills just outside Orvieto, will open in 2027.
Just ten minutes from the Rome to Florence motorway
This €43 million investment includes both the acquisition and the extensive restoration of the property, located just 10 minutes from the motorway linking Rome to Florence. The property - a former Benedictine abbey whose origins date back to between the 6th and 12th centuries includes a rare dodecagonal tower, a historic Romanesque church, extensive gardens, and almost 30 hectares of unspoiled woods and land. The hotel, which previously operated as a 4-star establishment with 27 rooms, will be completely redesigned according to Marie-Louise Sciò's vision of timeless elegance, enhancing the unique and original character of the complex.

Wizz Air will open four new routes to italy from Warsaw-Modlin, the low-cost airline's sixth base in Poland.
New flights from December
The new flights will be to Milan Bergamo, Brindisi, Palermo and Alghero. From 2 December 2025 it will be possible to fly daily between Warsaw and Milan Bergamo, while connections to Brindisi, Palermo and Alghero will launch on 16 December 2025 and 31 March 2026 respectively, with three weekly frequencies on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. All flights will be operated with Airbus A321neo aircraft.
Some 30 direct flights from Poland to Italy
Wizz Air thus consolidates its role as the leading low-cost carrier in Central Europe and also strengthens the network between Poland and Italy, bringing the number of direct flights between the two countries to almost 30. This milestone is part of the airline's broader strategy to offer an increasing number of affordable and convenient travel opportunities to and from Italy, the airline's largest market by number of passengers carried.

Solar-powered eco-friendly cruises on Lake Tora
One is Castel di Tora, which is perched dramatically above Lake Turano, a lovely medieval village that clings to a rocky promontory, with postcard-perfect views in every direction. Its old alleyways climb pas stone houses to the central square where locals gather, and the little Church of San Giovanni Evangelista. Its biggest attraction is the lake, which is ideal for kayaking, canoeing, and for outings on the new eco-friendly cruises aboard the solar-powered Thiora boat. Just ten kilometres away Paganico Sabino is another charming hill town. The Grotto Trail winds through woodlands and rocky outcrops, revealing natural caverns like the Sotterra and Ronoriu, once rustic shelters and now open to visitors. Paganico also delights food lovers with traditional dishes like pettole (small fried dough balls), pasta with wild boar ragù, and local cheeses. Collalto Sabino has an annual pilgrimage every 24 June
Further along the valley, Collalto Sabino, officially one of Italy’s “Most Beautiful Villages”, is encircled by Medieval walls, with cobbled streets and mountain views. Its Monte San Giovanni in Fistola Trail leads to the ruins of a Medieval church and a Roman sanctuary, which is honored every year during the annual June 24 pilgrimage that turns the quiet hilltop into a stage where past and present meet. Culinary traditions here lean toward grilled meats, lentils from nearby Santo Stefano, and handmade pasta dishes with truffles and prized porcini mushrooms. More than enough to satisfy even the most demanding of gourmets.

In Rome Fiumicino, Milan Linate, Milan Malpensa, Bologna, and Turin airports it will shortly be be once again possible to carry bottles of liquids - perfumes, wines, etc. - exceeding 100 ml on board in hand luggage. This move, announced by ENAC, the Italian Civil Aviation Authority, which will undoubtedly be welcomed by passengers, is thanks to the use of new-generation scanners.
The software of the new-generation scanners immediately recognizes any explosives, even if they are stored in a suitcase, triggering an alarm. This will make it possible for passengers to carry bottles of liquids of all sizes on board on hand luggage.
Probably from the end of July or early August
The change could take place between the end of July and the beginning of August, although it is possible that the timeframe could be extended due to bureaucratic problems. The introduction of the 100 ml limit for liquids in hand luggage was introduced in 2006 after an anti-terrorism plan was unveiled that used liquid explosives disguised in ordinary soft drink bottles.

Ceriana, on Italy’s northeastern coastline in Liguria is a member of the Italy’s Most Beautiful Small Towns collection. This hilltop village, half an hour’s drive climbing up from the coast into the Ligurian hills, is known for its mix of historical, cultural and natural attractions. 
“Many visitors come back again and again”
ItaliAbsolutely asked Ceriana’s mayor Maurizio Caviglia what visitors can expect to find in the little town. “Culturally we have a lot to offer, thanks to our well-preserved Medieval architecture, stone alleyways and over 20 ancient churches,- says the mayor. - Many of our visitors come from abroad, even as far as the United States while others arrive from northern Europe. For example many of them come back again and again, from Denmark in particular, and they often stay for long periods also to partake in traditional events and customs.”

“Our main means of promoting Ceriana and its surrounding area is through social media and the many events we are able to organize throughout the year, as we are just 360 metres asl and so have a mild climate. One event which is always a big draw is Easter with processions and festivities, and in and around the town there is a good choice of home rentals and small agritourism properties which are much in demand. “
The annual Sausage Festival is on 16 and 17 August
Another popular festival in Ceriana is the Sagra della Salsiccia, the local sausage festival held in August, which celebrates the village’s prize-winning traditional pork sausages with food, music, and dancing. This year the festivities will be held on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 August. “We are also popular with nature lovers who come to enjoy our biking, hiking and walking trails in the surrounding countryside and to enjoy panoramic views of the Ligurian Alps and the sea.”
Close to the sea and 40 minutes from Nice-s international airport
Despite its small size Ceriana has a lively cultural scene with many exhibitions, shows and concerts, and not just during the summer months but year-round. In a peaceful rural context not far from the coast, it is also close to popular sun and sea resorts like San Remo which is just 12 miles or half an hour’s drive away – and so perfect for day trips - while the French Riviera city of Nice is just 40 miles away and has an international airport.
